Barack Obama (AP)

Ok this blogmight sound rude, insensitive, and possibly a little hateful. So… I am just going to write a letter to Smidgen. That way- no one has to take it personal but her.

Dear Smidgen,

The time has come (the “damn time” to be exact). I do hate that we were not with the Obama group celebrating such a triumph in history but I suppose we will be okay. I am very excited that we took part in this time in history and are on the other side of the coin. I recall in 2004 when Bush won the 2ndtime so many of us wanted to put a gun to our heads or ask America, “What the hell????” But my Republican aunt at the time, yes after a brush with poverty I think she might have seen the light and came back to being a Democrat, lol… anyways she said that God knew what he was doing and that we had to trust him. That is sooo true. Just think. If Bush hadn’t royally screwed us over soooo bad, Obama would not have had a prayer. But then again McCain choosing Palin was also classic. I mean honestly, Obama would have had all of us shaking had McCain chosen Guliani (Rudy) or even Huckabee. But the good ol’ Sarah pick did push us over and I am glad. Not only did we (Dem) stomp the Republicans, we PULVERIZED them in the electoral college. Ahhh this is a wonderful night. I am glad I am not going to work though because I might be at liberty to break out in song or strut. *Sigh* I know that we were tired of all this mess but it is now over. Obama has won hands down. No one cares that people are upset, Change is coming! WE won. God has spoken and we have no choice but to listen. People can say the anti-Christ is here but if so then that is God’s will. Sometimes God has to reach way down to pick us up… he will do it and he has done it for America.

Whooooohooooo Obama is 44th President. Our prayers have been answered! We will see a tax cut and some great stuff happening in our country… lalalalalalala… ok I am sooo happy. Oh yes and we picked up 5 seats in Congress- ha ha Democrats rise again… oh happy day! 25 seats in the House will be ours… hahahahahaha!

Ok I am probably too happy. I am going to bed to finish celebrating!

I love you dearly and you are one of my dearest friends… keep blogging!

I will let you know about the doc appt tomorrow at 11 a.m. I am still hurting intermittently, thinking about food a lot, eating way more, not wanting to go to work, waking up b/een 5 and 6 a.m. to go to the bathroom, and just nervous about the whole process. I think that sums it up! lol…

Fall Break…

with 2 comments

I would love to spend this blog talking about my wonderful adventures during fall break such as Go to fullsize imagemy wonderful time spent in the hot tub reading a good book and relaxing or good times off on an exotic vacation or cruise or even some good old fashioned meaningful shopping. Unfortunately I cannot say any of that.

I went home to my hubby on Tuesday to go to a job interview with Human Resources. It was great. I interviewed with the lady before and felt like we were old friends! It lasted all of 20 minutes and she assured me that she would pass on my credentials. Sure enough she did and Mrs. C called me in the next morning for an hour and a half interview which consisted of me talking about my hometown, her niece and nephew, her brother, my past experience, her doctorate degree, plans of the future of the department, etc. It was a nice interview. Do I think I have it? I am not sure. Mrs. C. seemed interested enough but announced that she did have others to interview and that she was waiting on human resources to finish giving her a list. She told me to continue my search and I was bound to get something. Comforting- not so much…

Outside of the interview, I slept. Why? Not sure if I was exhausted from the weekend in MIA or what. I did see dead bodies- from a distance- that could have added stress. I felt nauseous for most of the week.

Go to fullsize imageI am praying that I am not a “preggar” as was suggested. I should take the test but I have not. I am waiting until I decide to go get one- no pressure ya know? Oh well… I am not feeling the whole “mommy” thing right now but I guess if that is what God has in store then this is a true test of my faith and I have to trust that he will make a way for all of us including me and hubby. I slept for 15 hours a day for most of the day Tuesday through Thursday. I was able to get some stuff done on Friday. Although it didn’t last long… I should have gotten a lot more done. I wish I could get some new stuff or feel motivated to decorate and make the apt less sterile. But the new idea is that we will be moving so why decorate?

Go to fullsize imageWell unfortunately I can spend the rest of the blog talking about Obama leading in the polls, or even that whomever said ok to Palling being on SNL was stupid and that she needs to realize that she has even Republicans claiming that she is only looking out for herself and not McCain but I won’t. I could gripe about my job about not being paid enough or teaching children who could care absolutely less, but I won’t. I will say that I am thankful for a good job, paid vacation, money to do what I need to and some leftover, health, strength, great friends (one is better on the phone & the other is a faithful blog reader) and awesome family (even though they just want to know if I am a preggar or not). I am blessed and that is all.

Why?

with one comment

Image Preview
1. Why when someone can’t speak the English language, do I tend to speak slower but also raise my voice? They are not deaf!
2. Why do I feel absolutely exhausted at the end of the day at work and then have a burst of energy at home?
3. Why does football even exist?
4. Why do some people have so much money (The Real Housewives) and others have none????
5. Why are the insurance companies trying to make everything outpatient just to not pay for their customer’s care?
6. Why are teachers not paid more?
7. Why am I so tired but fighting sleep like  a child?
8. Why is it so hard sometimes for friends to know that in order to keep a good friend you have to be a good friend and NOT be allergic to the phone? (*yes, there are 2 out there*)
9. Why is life hard and then you die?
10. Why are there no Obama/Biden signs anywhere? *sigh- I guess it does not matter since he leads*

FL Middle School Teacher Defines Change…

with one comment

I thought this article was interesting. I found it on several sites

http://www.jcfloridan.com/jcf/news/local/article/marianna_teacher_told_students_what_change_stood_for/39223/

It is absolutely revolting that it happened and even worse the fool did not lose his job! I hate that everyone thinks if McCain had something negative said about him that nothing would happen- that is not true. But I will call anyone a bumbling idiot. I do not use the N-word or CRACKER or Wetback or CAMELRIDER or TOWELHEAD to describe anyone. Point blank it should not be accepted. I have found an interesting website: www.topix.netit is full of trash but you get to see how ignorant people are and in some cases you get the real story about people. It is pretty frivolous. I am in a small town and the former white sheriff has an Obama sign- you would think the world stopped. He is talked so bad about and all. His wife and daughter commented and I was soooo glad they did. How dare they be judged! I mean if you want to have Bush another 4 years because you are scared of the intelligent black man then be my guest. Stupid is as stupid does. LOL… No but really- vote your convictions… if you think a pig will do better write it in! You have to stand for something otherwise you will fall for anything!

OK so this was my comment to that story:

I teach high school social studies close to Marianna, FL. I have told my students that I am a Democrat and that I probably will vote Obama. I allow my students to share their opinions on Bush, McCain, Obama, Pallin, and Biden. I am always playing Devil’s advocate regardless of who is mentioned- Dem or Rep to make them think about the issues at hand. It is not my job to sway them one way or the other but it is my job to make sure they develop an informed opinion. I have had black students state they were voting for Obamabecause he was black and I had a white student say that he liked the fact McCain had been in the service and that was his reason for supporting him. I told both students to continue to learn what their chosen candidates and the others stand for. But bottom line- I told my students to vote for the candidate that upheld their (students’) values, morals, and who would be the best man for the job. If students ask my opinion I give it to them with the understanding that it is mine and it does change, therefore they need to form their own. This man is a disgrace to teachers everywhere! I am in the union and I do not agree that he still has a job. I know too many teachers (good ones) searching for jobs in FL right now. I hope someone continues to speak up so that further action is taken! By no means should this be tolerated!

I wonder how other “educated” people feel about this?

The N-word is not tolerated among those outside of the African American community. It should not be tolerated inside but for reasons that are of the communities’ own it is.  Having Obama run for President has sooo many people believing that equality has arrived. News flash- it has not- not for African Americans nor women! Anyways.. it is sad but the whole situation reminds me of Trick Daddy’s song…. It starts out our Country tis of thee, land of liberty, but that will neva be- no way- not in America…. it goes on to describe all of the accomplishments a black person can have- nice home, nice cars, college educated, respectable family… and still so many see them as simply just a N****R. The best way to describe the use to people is the difference between calling your mother or sister a female dog or even a friend but then when someone else does the same thing we all get upset and want to fight- matter of fact it is the SAME concept. My hubby and I can fight, argue, etc but the minute I told him a kid would not give me his phone when I asked him and disrespected me in the process he was willing to stop work drive several hours, kick a child’s rear end, deal with the consequences and then still be my husband.

Ok enough said- I still support Obama. I wish he had more experience but he does not unfortunately so I will continue to pray that God’s will be done and go on with my life.

For those of you dying to know the lyrics of the song:

Jobs, and the Debate…

leave a comment »

Barack Obama accepts the Democratic Nomination

The debate between Pallin and Biden are on and I am blogging. I am very disappointed that better grammar was not used by Pallin. Biden is kicking her butt. How are you going to announce that you are not going to answer the question but talk to the American people about your track record? Point blank- if students don’t answer my questions that I ask- they get an E for Effort which essentially boils down to an F. Part of being in school and sharing your knowledge is to answer the questions and stay on topic. Hmmm perhaps Pallin should have took the F-CAT writing crash course in Florida prior to the debate.

Ok anyways- I do agree with Pallin and McCain on the same sex stuff. It is man and woman- suck it up! I am not for homosexual stuff- but Obama and Biden do not support gay marriage so that is a relief. Pallin is looking dumber and dumber by the minute. Ugh- withdraw the troops and spend the money helping people with their homes. If you take care of home and pray the world would be a much better place. It is sad but if Barackdoes not win I think it will be because some people are just prejudiced and can’t look past color still. We can paint it however but point blank racism is still very much active in America and especially in the small towns. I said it and I believe it. At least if you are prejudiced against something be bold about it. I speak my mind- no one has to agree with me. God will do what he wants so that is it.

Okay I did apply for another position at the college of my choice so I hope to see some good news on Oct. 17th and then again I hope to be interviewed the next week while I am in that lovely town for Fall Break. I am now certified to teach in AL! Whoooohooooo! The lady called me today and shared the great news. She hopes that I will be called soon about positions in the chosen counties. Man, I hope so. I got a call about tutoring so I guess I will start that and then also maybe continue praying for something better or at least in my town.

Not much to add today…. ugh.. just watched “Felon” it was suggested by a student and is fantastic! Of course it shows what happens when some people get too much power. Chaos!!!

To think my kids said that I should run for President and they would vote for me- you know we are in a rough situation. For those of you in agreement I told them he is underpaid and too much stress. I would feel bad if I hurt people and send troops to foreign areas for the 5th time. My conscience would eat me alive! I just could not do it!

Politics are necessary but hey whatever. I do hope that Obama wins.

I digress… ugh back to checking other blogs and e-mails… yes the debate is still on… blah!
