Open concept…

with 3 comments

Ok so I have a picture of my obsession… open concept kitchen/living area. Hubby has seen the light and does not understand why it is soooo important to me but upon seeing the house with the concept he totally appreciated it.

Spring Break, hubby and I went and looked at homes and found a model home by Adams. It was 5 bedrooms and 3 bathooms- definitely a dream home for me but a tad bit out of ou budget and not to mention I would need a maid for real especially with a little one running around. But this open concept is fantastic and soooo non-negotiable now!

Time…

with one comment

There just is not enough time in the day for me these days! What would I do if I had to work 8-5? Ahhhh! I shudder at the thought. I stayed for a book study today- it was great… we said how the book was wrong and how notetaking was not a strategy worthwhile to teach even according to the book data. Then we talked about the fights at school (2) and the fact it was a full moon.

Well, we are still working on the bargaining stuff. I think we are making progress but the point of the matter is that the state budget is being cut and there is no money for any state agency. Apparently Jeb did us a number and spent all of our money and got us deeper in debt.

I feel funny a lot with this pregnancy thing. Like today, hubby was here and suggested we lay down at 6 p.m.- lol… I went straight to sleep and woke up at 11 to eat as he suggested for the umpteenth time. I am so tired sometimes. I hurt when I am hungry, and I hurt when I overeat. It is difficult to maintain the balance. Especially because when I do get hungry I tend to shovel the food in… lol.. I have had to tell myself to slow down.

I showed a Beautiful Mind to my Psychology class. Although I should have waited until we covered the section on Schizophrenia I went ahead and showed it after we discussed the brain. The movie is slow. Today we watched the part where they realized what characters were real and which were not. They really enjoyed it. I have already planned to watch The Miracle Worker, The Pursuit of Happiness, and Remember the Titans. I am thinking sensation and motivation chapters.

Well this weekend will be me sleeping again. I am excited. I like doing nothing. lol. Classes are going smoothly to my surprise. We are moving right along and the kids are buckling down more as they see time marching on. It is difficult to help them when they give you nothing to work with but some are really coming full circle and I am glad. I am still looking at home plans. I want to build but now it is all about property and getting land cleared- yuck!

So I leave you to ponder this home plan now…

Ok it is actually a revised version because it is a 4/3 with jack and jill baths between bedroom 2 and 3. There is also a bathroom attached to bedroom 4. The whole plan is about 2319 square feet. It is not available online but a very nice plan. So here is the plan with the above revisions to be kept in mind. Feel free to look at the nice plans at Heritage Homes.

OK that is all there is, there isn’t anymore. I am enjoying sleeping and eating. I will try to be more studious at blogging for smidgen’s sake. I also plan to get back on the wii fit and get into a routine to exercise as I am gaining more weight- yes! At the dr. last week- I was 107.8- needless to say I almost past out and the girl was like is that abnormal. Mom and I laughed as I said that is the MOST I have ever weighed! :)

It’s Saturday!!!!

with 2 comments

Let me start with my blog edit on T.G.I.I.A.F..

Blog edit- My cousin…. uh… Skinny C who used to be skinny… lol… she got old and married… hmm not so skinny now… yes I know I will be in the same boat sooner than later…. she also comments on MANY of my posts… she is right up there with smidgen… and she even goes to the old stuff and comments. So I have 3 faithfuls and Tipp is new…. Ms. D.C. and Ms. Tally are still slacking in this area!!!! lol… Just wanted to add that in.

Made of HonorNow for my weekend… well I was sleep by 9 p.m. on the couch last night. But, I did get to see Made of Honor with McDreamy from Grey’s Anatomy and I really liked it! I do recommend it to all of my friends! Ms. Tally kindly pointed out that I continued to eat. She is soooo precious sometimes. Finally at 11 p.m. my Mom woke me to tell me that everyone was going to bed. So I crawled into my own bed. I did not wake up either until- yep, you got it a little before 6 a.m. You KNOW I knew it was Saturday and was not happy but I was extremely thankful that I could crawl back in bed and just get warm and not feel the need to get up.

I did get up at 9 a.m. because I got hungry. So I fixed a glass of milk. I have done this all week and Go to fullsize imageapparently I did not fix my 3 pieces of toast fast enough because after about my 3d swallow I started feeling funny. I figured I would dry heave since there was nothing in my stomach and I did for a couple of times. Then.. it came- yes the 3 gulps of milk came up. But at least this time not through my nose. I kept gagging but was telling myself just get the bread down and this will be solved. It will soak up the milk. So I had my toast and life was good. I was going to lay back in bed but figured I would be bored so I decided to remain on the couch in the recliner and just put my feet up. I feel better and plan to eat some pizza in the next 30 minutes- my regular lunch time. I think I had tummy issues because I was off my schedule. I shudder at the thought of trying to eat on schedule every day but I guess those are the breaks.

Well supposedly I am 7 weeks and 1 day today. My little one or “Tiny” as Mrs. T says is about 1 inch long and is starting to form. She has a heartbeat. Oh and for all the superstitious people- I checked the Chinese calendar… it says it will be a girl! I was 26 at conception and conceived in September. Don’t believe me- check it out: http://www.parentingweekly.com/pregnancy/pregnancy_information/chinese_calendar.htm

So, Ashlynne Nechele will be here sooner than we know! AHHHHHHH!

Ok… I have been looking for homes again… I found Heritage Homes that builds in AL. I have gone into the model home and was very impressed. So smidgen please check out the site… Ms. Bootswiththefur should check them out too! I like this new plan. It is not as nice as the other but I think it would be much less of a headache….

HERITAGE HOMES

KENSINGTON PLAN

2,472 sq.ft. / 4 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms

kensington

The 2,472 square foot Kensington is designed for larger families and can be easily converted into a five-bedroom home. The open layout in the common areas – Family Room, Dining Room, Breakfast Area and Kitchen – encourages family gatherings in spacious but cozy surroundings. There are large closets in every one of the comfortably sized bedrooms with three bathrooms located within only a few feet from each bedroom. The master bedroom has its own doorway to the back porch and features a large bathroom with a garden tub, two walk-in closets, a double vanity, a stand-alone 3′ x 4′ shower, and a separate water closet. The curb appeal of the Kensington makes your home stand out in your neighborhood with the attractive roof design, two offset gables and an energy efficient brick exterior.

Kensington Floor Plan

Of course there will be some upgrades:

We will have stainless steel, ceramic tile, carpet in the bedrooms, and maybe covering the patio. I would love to add a door to the living room so that could be our music room with the piano and all the other instruments and equipment set up in there. The kitchen has to be open so maybe the fireplace could be moved… we don’t use ours at Mom’s anyway…

Food is becoming a real issue…. thus far this is what I have had today:

Glass of milk, cup of Kool-aid, glass of water, cup of apple juice… 3 slices of toast, taste of french toast, piece of pizza, mashed potatoes & green beans, McDonald’s french fries & cheeseburger, and now (6 p.m.) I am going for more juice and pizza. Oh and I also ate a little of the leftovers my sis had from the Chinese place. That of course threw her over the edge and had her talking about me and my eating over again! Ahhhh the insensitivity!

Just another manic Monday…

with 2 comments

Go to fullsize imageYes, I awoke this morning at 6 a.m. on the dot due to my infamous bladder. I tried to shift and pretend to still be asleep. But it was all in vain. I had to leave the warmth of my bed to empty it. Then I got back in bed to remain warm until the very last minute- 6:30 a.m. I was soooo not ready to get up but I had to do it and I did. So Mrs. T came and picked me up and we were late to work but I don’t think anyone noticed. I was kind of glad to have plenty of time for the good stuff this morning.

Go to fullsize imageEven though I had a baddddd experience with Milk yesterday, I still love it! I had a glass this morning with my Go to fullsize image2 pieces of toast and my pop tart. I was STARVING by lunch and ate my 2 peanut butter/jelly sandwiches remaining VERY unsatisfied. I was totally dismayed to not see my chips in my drawer and could not wait to get home where I could have some lasagna and boiled p-nuts. Yum, Yum! At 2:45 I was sooo happy to have located my chips in my bag so I ate them okay I inhaled them and was starving again until I got home. Now it is 7:00 p.m. and since I had my boiled p-nuts at 3:30 and my small portion (yes, really small) of lasagna I am content. Mom is making me dinner but I am going to have leftover fish instead of pork chops and then some veggies and rice. I think my prenatal vitamins are making my appetite come alive. Even BFF from CC said she had never seen me eat so much. I am always looking for a snack. I am eating more but in smaller portions. I am taking the vitamins and avoiding alcohol & caffeine so I think I am being a SAINT!

Go to fullsize imageWork was good. I went over some necessary sections and reminded students of late work and how the semester was ending VERY soon. So many of them have F’s strictly because they don’t think they should have to do anything. I hate it for them though- life doesn’t work that way and neither do my classes. I am going to type lesson plans tonight and work really hard to get it all in tomorrow. I am behind in 2 classes- that drives me crazy too!

Level 1Now that I am home and all is well. I did wash the dishes for my Mom and found another house plan that I adore that I will share with my fellow readers. I don’t like the outside but hubby says we can make it all brick if we decide to build this plan. There is also a bonus room downstairs. I am pretty sure we would add that in. I am in LOVE with the idea of 4 bedrooms. A room for big girl/guests; Ashlynne, hubby’s office and then the master suite. It just does not get more perfect… ok my Perfect home is just that with a potential 5 bedrooms so I guess I have mastered finding the perfect home but this would be a good starter. Especially if we could continue to add on. I would want the kitchen to be open to the living room and tray ceilings with walk-in closets in the Master is soooo me! I am loving the garden tub and separate shower plus a GARAGE!!!! Whooohooooo!

FrontOK so now I will share the downside of this plan. The outside. It looks like someone just truly messed up a cute house. I am thinking all brick would have to be the way to go. The home looks almost camo! I do like the green and yellow and red brick combinations but I am not sure it would all tie in real good. Oh well it is just a thought. Building a home takes a lot out of people. So we will see. Dang, I forgot to call the bank and see how much I am permitted to borrow especially in this time of credit crunch but it would be fantastic if they approved us for way more than what we budgeted that way if it goes over we don’t feel bad- ok I won’t feel bad or guilty as I plan for all the things that I want. :)

Ok thanks for reading, don’t forget to comment.

Goodnight.

Funny Stuff…

with one comment

A little birdie shared a cute story…

The birdie said that a certain young woman attempted to fix her own eyebrows. She shaved them off and wanted to draw them back on. In light of the idea that she might get her face wet, she wanted to make sure that they did not disappear. So in her brilliance- she decided to draw them on with black fingernail polish. She said it looked a hot mess later but about that time I was on the floor rolling laughing so I just didn’t care. Who would ever think to use black fingernail polish on one’s face???

Some good news about buying homes. My cousin works for HSBC and knows all about the mortgage stuff. He essentially gave us the thumbs up for the mortgage from FHA and the interest rate and the financing and the tax credit. I am soooo excited. I am going to be  a homeowner soon. I totally have been saving money this month and plan to continue. I am more motivated now then ever!

Hubby has his own band- soooo awesome… I expect them to drop an album and start traveling soon. I am also considering going back to school and maybe getting a specialist degree in Instructional Design… sounds interesting enough. I am not really interested in a PH.D. at the moment even though Hubby is bound and determined that I am going to get one.

Well today was cool- Mom is sick but hubby was here 1/2 the day so that made it nicer. Cousin and sister came and we all talked about serious stuff. I am going to spend some time tomorrow after church talking to another cousin and mapping out how we want to deal with Papa’s property. With property out in the country it might be useful to think about putting a little community out there and then a family home too.

Anywho it has been a good weekend that has gone too fast as usual. I am still looking for another position and still waiting to hear about my certification and jobs in my new area… ugh! At least my besties have great positions. My friend that was making a little of nothing will now be rolling in the $ at her new position in one of my favorite little towns. Since she got her blessing I know mine is right around the corner again so… good things are coming… stay tuned!

Oh and one last hit on the politics… just to let everyone know… I do not support abortion. On the contrary I am all about Roe v. Wade which most people don’t even know what is says exactly. It states that essentially from 0-6 months the Mom can decide what to do as in termination of a pregnancy. In the 2nd trimester, a woman can essentially decide to abort but the state can mandate counseling and only certain areas in which the action could occur. Abortion is wrong. Yes, I agree. Do I think it is the government’s job to mandate that one cannot have one? Heck no. The more power you give the government the less control we have to make our own decisions. Perhaps in due time those decisions may boil down to acting out Christian duties. But if we are going to let the government regulate morality let’s go all the way. Fornication (sex before marriage) is wrong. The government might alleviate a lot of issues and problems if we just start punishing people for not following the cardinal rule of wait until you are married. So is that going to far? If so why? If you are going to start letting the govt police the marital bedroom you are only opening yourself and the rest of society to hardship and problems later.
