Living Life as Jayden's Mommy….

No I have not neglected to inform my loyal readers that I am now a Mommy because my son is still inside me. Yes, that is what I said. I was due Tuesday and the little man has decided that life is better in Mom. As much as I have fought for him to stay in there as long as he wants, the doc and ultrasound tech feel he needs to come on out. The fluid looks ok but the placenta is old. So… he is going to have to be out by Monday.

Yes, I am a little depressed. I feel as though I did something and my son does not want to come out on his own. I am praying I don’t have to have a C-section. I am not happy that I am being set up for cervadil (to soften my cervix) because I HATE to be checked- it is a grueling and just stressful experience for me. I am currently 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced since my doc had not charted any of my progress the last 2 weeks for the nurses to share with me today. I went in strictly for the ultrasound. As far as I can tell- the Cervadil is to be inserted kind of like a tampon AND then it has to be taken out… I am PRAYING that when I am checked I am 100% effaced and that my son is really close to coming out. I am all for the Pitosin in the I.V. and I am ok with the epidural as well.  So I go in Sunday at 5:30 p.m. and then sometime on Monday I will go into labor and have a “Jayden”. I am rethinking the whole preggo thing just because of this end part BUT maybe with a vaginal birth I will open up and it will be better next time.

So that is my update. I am double checking my bag and bought some nursing bras today. My newest addition from ebay about 10 minutes ago is the “Itzbeen Baby Care Timer” for $25. I just think it will help even though my Mom thinks I am freakin’ crazy! I got a green one to match the nursery and to be gender neutral since I just associate blue with boy.

Ok so some of the things I have to go to the hospital:

Nursing bras
Reading material

Robe
Lounge clothes
Nursing pads
Boob creme
slippers
flip flops
hair stuff
perfume
Dove soap
baby oil gel (for after shower)
toothbrush/ toothpaste
snacks
Granny undies (for the huge pads)

For Jayden:
3 outfits (depending on temp in and out of hospital)
2 hats
mittens
receiving blankets
blanket
diapers
petroleum jelly (for his wee wee)
desitin
burp cloths
receiving blankets
wipes
baby lotion

I am sure there is some other stuff I am forgetting at 12 a.m. but you get the idea…

OK so say some prayers that I do as much as possible on my own without the doc’s help. And that if I do have to have stuff that I can relax and it not be painful!

Oh yes quick note for those of you that are thinking I should do some things to cause myself to go into labor or efface naturally. I have tried the following: warm bath, let hot water hit the tummy, hit the web in between the forefinger and thumb, make love, walk, walk briskly, bounce on the exercise ball. I am not eating spicy food, hitting the bumpy roads, or dinking castor oil. The child is not ready to come out and that is the bottom line. I do feel that he has dropped more into position since Tues but the ultrasound tech really could not verify that.

2. You think it is crazy that I write, call, and blog my one friend that seems to be allergic to the phone because I have not heard from her in 3 weeks and it is NOT totally out of the ordinary for her to disappear every now and then, well bless your heart.

3. You think it is wrong to tell people that I want gift cards for presents instead of tons and tons of diapers and wipes well bless your heart.

4. You don’t like my baby name even though you have had 3 sons and think you have found me a new name and can’t understand why I just don’t have much to say to you right now, well bless your heart.

5. You are jealous that my parents are taking care of me along with my hubby while I am pregnant, well bless your heart.

6. Your little sister does not take care of you and look out for you like mine even though we are not the closest sisters, well bless your heart.

7. I lose my job and all of a sudden all the freeloaders leave my home that they have lived in the past 7 -8 years and take their govt checks with them in my time of need and you think that is ok??? Well BLESS YOUR HEART!

I didn’t have much to go off about this week so I just did a few blasts… lol…

I am now at “my” home and dang it all I forgot my small Christmas tree. I refuse to go buy one this close to Christmas but I will be getting one for next year even if I do hope that we are not here on Christmas Day. This is the 1st Christmas not with my family and I am not looking forward to it. Although I have my camera and I hope I find some good food on Christmas day there is nothing like being catered to by your Mama.

Anyways, I am now here. I cleaned until I got tired and I have kept the gifts in the car away from hubby’s probing eyes. I had to tape all the bags together to ensure that he would not peek. He still has not done his shopping and I told him today that he could just write me a check because I wanted my stuff. He was soooo much better last year! Ugh- I see what marriage has done to him! lol… I am hoping Katie’s gift gets here soon because I have not seen it yet… I am a little nervous. It is a slim Christmas for all of us but life goes on and next year my lil’ one will have 1st Christmas so Daddy really drops low on the list as I get all the pics and gifts! I am excited. I have saved the past 6 months for this time and I plan to do the same next year. So yes- absolutely- it is in the BUDGET!!!

I am still eating and sleeping. It is nice. I love being off but enjoy my paycheck so I guess I will go back to work on the 5th. I am going to see if hubby can take some better preggo pics of me since mine did not turn out and I will share my Christmas “do”. Me and my hairdresser (don’t you dare correct my grammar!) decided with all that is going on with me it was important that we go with the less is more theme and cut the hair out of the equation. Only problem- I forgot my hairspray and it needs to be sprayed down to remain hard and not move. Yes, it is intentional! Well that is my update. I will take pics of all of hubby’s gifts before he does his damage, just so all can see. I am doing Saturday Christmas with my family and had to hide the presents so they would not rip into them… it really is a shame! Anyways will take some pics and post I hope… lol.
