Living Life as Jayden's Mommy….

1. You think that just because my hubby plays gigs and is not able to come visit every week that our marriage is set for disaster, well bless your heart.

2. You think it is crazy that I write, call, and blog my one friend that seems to be allergic to the phone because I have not heard from her in 3 weeks and it is NOT totally out of the ordinary for her to disappear every now and then, well bless your heart.

3. You think it is wrong to tell people that I want gift cards for presents instead of tons and tons of diapers and wipes well bless your heart.

4. You don’t like my baby name even though you have had 3 sons and think you have found me a new name and can’t understand why I just don’t have much to say to you right now, well bless your heart.

5. You are jealous that my parents are taking care of me along with my hubby while I am pregnant, well bless your heart.

6. Your little sister does not take care of you and look out for you like mine even though we are not the closest sisters, well bless your heart.

7. I lose my job and all of a sudden all the freeloaders leave my home that they have lived in the past 7 -8 years and take their govt checks with them in my time of need and you think that is ok??? Well BLESS YOUR HEART!

I didn’t have much to go off about this week so I just did a few blasts… lol…

Ok I was “tagged” by Malyn to do my 25 randoms. So here they go:

1. I am a teacher and have always wanted to be a teacher since I was in Mrs. Trawick and Mrs. Booth’s classes at CCA!!! I really do like teaching but sometimes wish that I would have went into finance and had an office job- maybe one that would allow me to work from home some.

2. I went to a Christian pre-school and then private school through the 3rd grade and think it was fantastic. I would not redo it nor do I have any regrets.

3. I am a little jealous of my little sister. She has struggled a little in life but the blessing just flow on her! Not to mention she has a great fashion sense and personality! (Go figure!)

4. I really, really, really, really want a job in Mobile, AL next year so that hubby and I can save and get a new house.

5. I love my parents- they are fantastic. I always had freedom in high school to be around my friends- so much to the point that I could bring my “drunk” friends home with me and not have to answer any questions. My teenage years were great and I enjoy going to dinner and just hanging out with my parentals.

6. I am soooooooo happy that my besty at work found at that she is pregnant. She has been great these past few years to me and has helped me through my whole pregnancy ordeal. She will be a great Mama!

7. I am scared about Motherhood. I am a selfish person and I know that God will change my heart but I love my “me” time. I am so scared that I am going to do something totally detrimental to my child. What if I don’t take care of the stump, or change the diapers correctly, or hurt him while trying to breastfeed, or can’t console him when he is upset???

8. My Mommy gave me a heating pad today and it is helping but my back still hurts after sitting too long. I think Jayden may be running out of room already and trying to place his limbs in my other areas.

9. I am obsessed with finances. I love teaching others, tansferring money, making interest, paying bills, doing taxes, and talking about plans when it comes to finances. I pay my tithes and feel that God blesses those who follow that commandment. (I know it is not with the other 10 but we all need to give God 10%) 

10. I am soooo glad Obama is my President. He is so intelligent and I feel the Lord will lead him and guide him to show our country a better time.

11. I am a Christian although I am still not the best I can be. I am a work in progress.

12. My sister is a fantastic sister! She picked out all my maternity clothes for me. Everything that I got she pretty much approved for me. I never thought I would ask HER advice- go figure.

13. I have a weekly Tv lineup that I deem quite important… Mon- Jon & Kate plus 8; Tues- The Real Housewives of Orange County; Wed- America’s Next Top Model; Thurs- Grey’s Anatomy; Friday- movies; Sat- Suze Orman; Sun- Desperate Housewives

14. I think my hair is a necessity. I will budget for my perm until the day I die. If I don’t get one it will look horrible and eventually all fall out! I pay $50 and it is worth every dime. Yes, our family will go without a night out so I can get it done and that is not selfish it is called prioritizing.

15. I told my hubby that I was unsure that I wanted to work next year since Jayden will be here and he told me that it was totally my choice. We would make do and live off of his check and savings until I felt the need to go back or found someone I trusted to keep the baby. I thought that was a very sweet offer. But, for the sake of the family, I do think I need to work.

16. I would totally love it if Smidgen would move to Mobile, AL and live next door to me like we planned back in high school. I am waiting for her hubby and her to come to their senses and do the unthinkable- move to ALABAMA!!!! I never thought I would say that to anyone!

17. I love to eat birthday cake. I do not need a reason. I buy/ order birthday cake simply because I am alive and I will eat it all by myself. I am not ashamed to have something silly written on it for me either especially since I am paying the bill. Buttercreme is heaven and whipped stuff is of the devil! Yuck!!!!

18. I have made my sister promise to have a make-up kit and hair products with her at the hospital so that she can doll me up some before anyone gets pics of me and Jayden on his delivery day. I DO NOT want the pics of me looking tired and worn out.

19. I love to scrapbook! I want a room in my home dedicated to it so that I can spread everything out and see what I have. It is fun to scrapbook with others so I can steal ideas and color designs.. lol.

20. I am the photographer of the family- that is really sad! I take all the pics and get cameras every other year. I also have a videocamera to record all the funny stuff.

21. I was very disappointed when I found out I was having a boy. I called my sister as soon as I found out and refused to talk to anyone else about it. I made her call my parents and grandparents and tell them. I went to work the next day and cried when I had to tell everyone because I wanted a little girl so bad.

22. I chose the name of our son, Jayden Xavier. My hubby liked Jayden Jermaine but I did not want the nickname JJ or any rhyming in the name. I am weird like that. I looked up a common spelling of the name in hopes that when we vacation I will find that spelling on keychains and such. I always loved finding keychains with my name/ nickname on them.

23. I love to blog. I thought I wanted to remain anonymous at first but I love the comments from my friends and family so I am glad I “came out”. I suggest blogging to everyone as it is like an online diary.

24. My son, Jayden, is scheduled to be here 5 days after I stop working for the summer and 5 days before my 1 year wedding anniversary. God has such perfect timing.

25. I want to build a new home in Mobile, AL that is a little over 2300 square feet. I want a garage, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a kitchen that is fully open to the living room. A backyard that is fenced would also be nice. I am totally saving and claiming that in Jesus’ name.

Ok I wrote my blessings a day early but I will still share what I got here…

Do you ever get comments that are just so annoying or is there a certain person that is always getting into your business? Well this is your chance to share it and bless them all at once. This is a chance for you to write anything that has bothered you during the week and bless the ones that have annoyed you. We will just write “bless their hearts” (this is a little old lady southern phrase) behind all of the annoying things.

* You think my choosing not to get drunk and go out to clubs is ONLY because I am pregnant, not even considering that I did go to the #1 party school- FSU and really did get it all out of my system then… Bless Your Heart!

Ok so for another quick update… I have been paranoid about feeling movement… I felt a flitter a few minutes ago so I am feeling some relief. I cannot tell you how many times I have thought about calling around and seeing if anyone or a doctor has a baby monitoring machine I can hook up to. I even saw one in Motherhood where you can check the heartbeat and make sure there is one. I thought it was a little much too but now I am kicking myself for just not getting the little thing and keeping it on hand. It would have been worth it! My Mama is so unnerved… she just told me to relax and that everything was okay. I looked at her and said yeah… Well I filed my taxes and they came back because I got hubby’s ss# wrong.. ugh.. then I took about 45 minutes and did his. He is claiming head of household and making a killing. I wish we could switch incomes! lol… I could get something new with that check! Anyways, I am saving for a house and believing that God is going to bless all of us looking for job transitions, whether it be to another position at our schools, or going to another school. Please pray that God’s will be done.

I went to Wal-Mart after church (while hungry) and loaded up on snacks for after school. I also ventured into the baby department after being completely disgusted with the maternity rack- yes… 1 rack- not department! Anyways, I got to look at strollers and found this one in my preferred colors of green and brown:

I also saw the paisley print in person and it is bright and really cute to my surprise. I also like that it is at Wal-Mart and cheaper than the other. There is a Wal-Mart close to all my family members- I cannot say the same for Target!

Ok so here is the Wyndham that my sister likes… I can get the total package for $525.

 I did find some clothes at Beall’s outlet. I bought 3 tops- none are maternity- and a pair of Old Navy maternity jeans that I ABSOLUTELY love! I also got a pair of black flats since my ballerina Sam & Libby’s look horrible and I will wear them anyway! I paid $45 for it all with tax. I am soooo proud of myself!

Oh and something tragic that happened this week. My Mom backed into hubby’s car. I thought it was funny and so did he but I think he is going to get it fixed. He has been in 2 mishaps in the last 3 weeks. I am hoping nothing else happens because I know this is all fuel to allow him to get the new car he wanted… lol. It was an interesting week!

Creative Memories….. No… I am not reminiscing about a memory but I am so excited that I got a new scrapbook album! It is “plum.” I got it for my new little one sort of. If I have a girl then I will use it but if I have a boy then I am going to switch the “plum” with a “forest green” album I have. It was $25 total… normally way more… but it was on sale. I just needed a coverset. I am eager to scrapbook again and just get some pages started. It would be nice to scrap this summer but I think I might be busy with a new baby.

Today, I also started my application process for my AL teaching position. Alabama’s pay scale is quite good. It makes the FL panhandle look so sorry. I did figure out that even with a 5% contribution to retirement AND state income tax I should see about a $4k to $5k pay increase- sounds like a plan to me!

Today was low key. Kids worked on essays most of the day. Then in my Psych class we discussed classical conditioning and Pavlov and the dog. I tend to get real with my students because I think we can all learn from each other. But there was one study where they were trying to stop bedwetting in kids.There was an alarm hooked to sheets and when urine (it said a couple of drops) hit- the alarm would go off and then the child could wake up and go to the bathroom. I was a little stunned when I read it and I was going to tackle the great question BUT I was so glad a student beat me to it! Yes, a male student said “I don’t know about anyone else but when I start, it don’t stop!” The whole class cracked up laughing and I did too. But once we calmed down I told him that I felt he was absolutely right. THEN, he said that it really bugged him that when he did get up to pee he would go and then he would get back in bed. Of course 30 seconds later he said he still had the pee sensation and would go back to the bathroom to only let 4 drops come out. The class lost it! I put my head down and just as I was about to suggest he spend a little more time in there the 1st time, a different male student said “Just shake it!” I thought I was going to die and we all laughed some more. But I told him that was a good suggestion! I told the ladies that they did not have that part to shake and it was not necessary for them to shake but just spending an extra 5 – 10 seconds on the toilet to make sure it was all out would solve the issue. What can I say? It made the whole day worthwhile and I WISH we had recorded the discussion! Talk about “teachable moments”… lol…..

My back is bothering me more now AND I can tell I am getting bigger. I used to wear my size 4′s with pride. At 1st because they were too big, then because I was pregnant and a 4. Now they are starting to fit… you should have seen my facial expression! I was like “Oh no!” I am glad I got some maternity jeans. I guess I thought I would just be a 4 for a bit longer, oh well.

Another lady at our school finds out today what the sex of her baby is, the coach finds out Wednesday and I find out Thursday! It is sooo cool.

I am watching Oprah right now. I am loving the outline  to show your partner your erogenous zones and in what order. I am also floored that a woman would suggest sex and intimacy every night! Wow! What a thought? Scheduling time for your loved one is so important! Hence my need to be with hubby daily… ahhhhhh… I digress… For all the readers who are prayer warriors- please pray with me that I do get a position in AL and that I am where God wants me to be but with hubby and new baby!

For those of you that are unaware, smidgensquared and I are very good friends. However, since she has moved up to the cold Arctic Circle of America she has been allergic to the phone, go figure! So… on a whim Sunday morning I called. I was killing time before church and breakfast…. low and behold to no surprise there was no answer to the cell. I left a number and didn’t think much of it. Can you all believe that I actually received a call back 10 minutes later??? I almost fell out of the bed! Anyways, I caught her up on all my stuff since my last post which gave me a reason to remain in my bed and doing other stuff than to blog… not sure why I see it as such a chore sometimes… anyways that is what happened. She has some pics of snow on her blog so you should check it out. I am still working on preggo pics. The ones I took do not show much…. hmmm…. okay well I told smidgen I would blog to her. She will be 28 on January 14th of 2009 and I can’t wait!!!!
